PROBLEM INTRODUCTION

It is increasingly difficult to give birth to new, revolutionary and trendy ideas for a graffiti writer of today.

In addition to the constantly evolving personal stylistic factor, a writer must absolutely bring the colors together. The letters, the subjects, are very important, but the basis of everything is color.

Organizing the right combination of colors thus becomes somewhat difficult, especially because in 80% of cases, the tools for arranging it in a clear and orderly manner are not faithful to what will be the real output on the wall.

Starting from the drawing, the markers do not have the same shades as the sprays, let alone the watercolors and pastels ... no color shines like that of a new spray! Not to mention the order of the colors: we always put the sprays in a row, bringing the donuts as close together as possible, alongside the outline, overline, 3d, background, effects, lights ... but that's not enough! We can not always try the sprays on a card to see if they fade correctly or if the combination is spot on! (Especially if we keep the sprays indoors)!
All these little inconveniences triple when we organize a bulwark with other people! Sharing the color scheme with many people, explaining it exactly as you imagined it, is not an easy thing! Especially if someone would like to change something in it!

I've been a graffiti writer for many years now and I can say I've tried them all by
having really looked everywhere for a way to organize my colors well, but I never found a tool that could really help me!
Starting from the manufacturers of spray for graffiti art, going from design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, to online platforms that offered color combinations.

The problem I encountered every time was the limited number of colors that could be added to the palette, the lack of practicality and elasticity of the platforms, the bad sharing of the palette with other users, the impossibility of creating groups of color samples, the non-correspondence of the samples themselves with the names of the colors of the spray brands and above all none had been designed for the purpose of creating a color palette for a graffiti!

Here the 3 platforms that I have used the most, despite the scarce one
satisfaction that I got from using them.

Montana Colors App
It works really badly, continuous crashes and limited possibilities to create a color palette. No facilitation in sharing the palette.

Coolors
This is the tool I prefer, although unfortunately it also has the possibility of combining only 5 colors to create a palette.

Adobe Illustrator
Here, obviously, you have maximum freedom and precision in creating the palettes, but it is very impractical and sharing the palettes is cumbersome, given that perhaps the user with whom you share the palette is not able to use the program.

So I created a short survey to send to the graffiti writers who collaborate with me and with others I have collaborated with. Each artist has his own style and approach to the discipline.
The questionnaire therefore focused on understanding how different authors design (and if they design controlled) their color palettes.

According to what has been collected, the result is quite disturbing: out of 100 tests, 15 would not use the application to create the color palette!

So I understood that the app should have been:
easy, immediate, fluid, precise, without profiling.

I designed a simple brand identity with an institutional air, which respects the seriousness of a writer who studies and organizes his own colors.
The mood is nocturnal, private and every color tone stands out.

As I said, I designed the app so that it is as immediate and fluid as possible, so I decided not to use a nav bar or a tab bar, but to manage everything via swipe.

Here I present some main screens.
